Blue River supports the mobility of the first 100% electric mobile bank in Romania
Transport means much more than moving goods from one point to another. Sometimes it means creating access to essential services, connecting communities and making possible projects that generate a real impact in society. This is also the case with the collaboration between Blue River and BCR, through which we handle the transport of the first 100% electric mobile bank in Romania to communities where access to financial services is limited.
A programme that brings the bank closer to people
Launched in October 2022, BCR's financial-inclusion programme has the mission of bringing banking services and financial education closer to people in rural areas and small towns. For many of these communities, travelling to the nearest bank branch can mean dozens of kilometres, and access to information and financial solutions is often difficult. The mobile bank changes this reality, reaching right into the heart of communities and giving people the opportunity to benefit from banking services, financial advice and financial-education sessions in a modern, fully equipped space.
The programme currently operates two mobile units, one of which is the first 100% electric mobile bank in Romania. Since launch, together they have travelled approximately 15,000 kilometres, reached over 30 communities and supported more than 5,000 people through banking services and financial-education activities. The results show that mobility can become an important tool for reducing the gaps between communities and for increasing financial inclusion.
